Your workflow.
Your factory.
Build a software factory around the way you work. Connect your agents, tools, and approvals in a process you can see, edit, and run.
Your coding agents. Your subscriptions.
A factory that belongs in your repo.
A plan before a patch.
Give the planner its own profile, tools, and budget. Its output becomes context for the next station.
A factory shaped around you
Start with your work.
Build the process around it.
Your repos already hold a lot of the answers. The conventions, the tools, the checks, and the way a change gets approved.
-
01
Repos → context
Let your agent investigate.
Use the investigation prompt to have your own agent research your repos and docs, find your conventions, and propose a factory.
-
02
Context → factory.yaml
Make the factory yours.
Edit stations on the canvas or in YAML. Give each agent its skills, tools, budget, and a clear job. Put approvals where you need them.
-
03
Factory → reviewed work
Run it. See what happened.
Follow the work through the same graph. Inspect attempts, tool calls, costs, and artifacts. Answer a gate when a decision needs you.
Today, investigation begins with a prompt you copy into your agent. Guided factory generation is on the roadmap.
Flexible by construction
A factory is a file.
You can change it.
The canvas and YAML describe the same process. Keep factories, agent profiles, and connectors in your own repository. Review a workflow change like any other change.
- Compose smaller factories into a bigger flow
- Connect your tools through MCP
- Give each station its own profile and budget
stations:
build:
kind: agent
name: Build the change
profile: builder
budget: { cost_usd: 15, turns: 200 }
outputs: agent
approve:
kind: gate
name: You decide
decisions:
- { id: approve, label: Approve }
- { id: changes, label: Request changes,
next: build }
Bring the setup you already have
Your agents.
Your subscriptions.
Run the coding CLI on your own machine with your own login. Keep your subscription with the tool you chose.
Claude Code is the first working adapter. The architecture leaves room for more coding agents, with each tool's supported sign-in and execution modes.
See what works todayAPI keys are an option for CI and server runs. Personal subscription runs stay on your machine.
An early look
The factory is taking shape.
Software Factory Builder is in active development. Here is where the project stands.
In the current implementation
- A visual editor and YAML workflow files
- Local runs through Claude Code
- MCP tool actions and nested factories
- Human gates and live run records
On the roadmap
- Guided research and factory generation
- More coding-agent adapters
- Coordination across repositories
- Evaluated improvements from human feedback
The project is being prepared for an open source release. The repository is currently private. Public source and install instructions will be linked here when ready.
Read the project overviewA few details
Before you
build a factory.
Can it research my workflows and build the factory for me?
That is the direction. Today, the editor gives you an investigation prompt to copy into your own agent. It asks the agent to read your accessible repos and docs and draft factories, profiles, and checks for review. An integrated guided setup is planned.
Can I use my existing subscription?
Local Claude Code runs can use your own CLI login. Support depends on the coding tool and execution mode. Additional adapters are planned. CI and server runs can use API keys.
How does this relate to Agent Manager?
Agent Manager is the terminal workspace for your coding-agent sessions. Software Factory Builder defines the process those agents work through, including tools, handoffs, budgets, and human decisions. They are separate projects from the same maker.
Explore Agent ManagerCan I edit the factory myself?
Yes. A factory lives in YAML in your repository. Use the visual canvas or edit the file, keep it in git, and review changes with your team. You choose the stations, profiles, tools, and gates.
